    The procession did appear
    Compassed with hobbies front and rear
    In close and compact columns these were led
    By snubs and C.P.Y.
    To have the works of evil done
    Before the setting of the sun

    Forbids such business after dark
    I saw them fell besiegers now
    With fury pictured on each brow
    And sabers fixed in battle style
    Advancing forward rank and file
    Their steady independent gait
    Showed power and discipline great

    They disregarded oppression
    But their conjectures were not sound
    As hills and glens did all resound
    With shouts and cheers denoting then
    The near approach of land league men
    I soon beheld from where I stood
    A sight extremely grand and good
    The land league force was come in view
    And in hot haste advancing too.
