    Oh what a scene I here disclose,
    Equipped and furnished in the van,
    With scythes and forks was every man
    Then courage and determination,
    Supplied the wand of organisation.
    (6th) Both parties with unslackened pace
    Proceeded on till face to face,
    And then with deadly weapons raised
    Upon each other fiercely gazed,
    Now these were moments you may learn
    Of very grave and deep concern
    I thought e'er that one line I wrote
    I heard the buglers battle note
    Comomingly with a mighty cheer
    Rebreveating far and near,
    I thought the clash of deadly battle
    Did like a tempest rage and rattle
    And that the earth though capped with hoar
    Got crimson dyre with human gore,
    I thought I saw the foreman real
    Beneath the prongs of clotted steel.
    And that heard the fearful tones
    Of madden shrieks of dying groan,
    (7TH) But my impressions now again
    Were but delusions false and vain
    Though certainly the test was nigh
    As eager eyes could well descry
