   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   Here are some rhymes taught to children in this district: -

   Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
   Four and twenty blackbirds baked into a pie,
   When the pie was opened the birds began to sing.
   Was not that a dainty dish to set before a king.

   
   The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
   The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey,
   The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
   When down came a blackbird and snaped off
   her noise.

   
   This wee pig went to the market,
   This wee one stayed at home,
   This wee one got bread and butter,
   This wee one got none.Week, week, weak where is my share.
