    In the time of the Land League there lived in Kiltulla a man by the name of Martin O'Halloran.

    miles from here. The majority of the people in this district were joined in the Land League. They were afraid of the police to hold their meetings in the day time and on that account they held them in the night. This field was away from the road and no stranger could get to it so that they were quite safe in holding their meetings there. There was a wooden platform errected with a few rough planks which could be [?] easily removed if the police were coming. The man speeching stood on this platform and the others drilled on the level ground. In several cases the meetings were proclaimed and they spoke from an outside car. All the people of the district attended these meetings and there was also a fife and drum band at each meeting. They had also what they called a banner. This was carried by four men and they marched before the band. This was a green flag with a photo of Wolf Tone on it and the United Irish League printed under it. On one certain occasion Martin O' Halloran went to hold his meeting in Clonshecahill. The meeting was proclaimed and he was
