The houses were mainly thatched though slated houses are now beginning to appear.
Four women and one man are over 70 years, another man is over 80 years. They know no Irish and are not well educated.
Houses are getting fewer every year. Within the past 35 years 5 houses have gone to ruins. The families emigrated to America leaving only the parents at home and when these died the houses went to ruin.
In two other houses the families were unmarried and one by one died out.
The land is good about the best in the parish. It had a fair share of wood formerly but it is now denuded(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
