    One day an old woman was sitting sewing. Her name was Jane McLaughlin. She dropped her thimble. She looked for a long time for it but could not find it.
    She started to curse the fairies and said it was they who did it
    At that moment her daughter who was sitting beside her was struck dumb.
    The poor woman was very sorry and didn't know what to do. She knelt down and asked the fairies's pardon.
    At that moment her daughter was restored her speeches and she thanked the fairies.
    This happened in Shandrum one hundred years ago. Shandrum is situated near the main road on the way to Carndonagh.
