  1. There are many birds in this district such as robins, sparrows, wrens, blackbirds, thrushes, swallows, larks, crows, magpies, and pigeons.
Some birds come to this district only for the summer, and when the summer is over they go away to a warm country.
The sparrow builds a small nest in a hedge, and she lays from three to five eggs.
The swallow builds her nest in the eaves of houses, and somethimes in barns, She builds it with clay and lines it with feathers and hair.
The robin builds a small nest in a mossy bank, and she lays five eggs.
There is a legend told about how the robin got its red breast. When Jesus was crucified on the cross the robin tried to pick the nails out of his hands. In doing so it got blood on its breast, and that is why every robin has a red breast.
