- Once upon a time there was a school and it was called Mulroy School. It was built in Carrick wood, near where the main road is now.It was a large school, and there were two doors on it.There were two teachers in it, and there names were Peter Graham, and Mary Wilkinson. They were taught English reading, and English grammar, and English poetry, and Arithmetic.They wrote on slates, which they brought with them.The books were too dear to buy and that is why they wrote on slates.They used a stone that was near to the school, to write on the slate.There was no Irish taught in the schools at that time.There was over one hundred and fifty scholars at Mulroy School.The fire was in the middle of the floor, with a pipe taking the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
