- When miners came to Kilmurrin to look for copper where they started working along by the cliffs.
One morning they came into a cave in which the image of the Blessed Virgin was cut into a big rock. When they saw it they got frightened and left the cave.
They came to another cave and they found the statue again standing in the cave. They said it was washed in with the tide so they started to work. One of the men hit the statue by accident in the breast and a stream of water began to flow from it.
It is said that the water would cure deafness.- Bailitheoir
