    About 45 years ago I attended the first "bone-fire in my life. I was not then alone, but was accompained by my father, some of my neighbours.
    Everyone brought with him a bag of turf, some furze and a bottle of (whiskey) paraffin oil. In addition to this I brought some branches of an ash tree.
    We selected a place where the Ballinahaglish road joins the "burial ground road" to light the fire. Then we gave 3 shouts, and people came from every direction carrying the turf, furze, and oil.
