- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)On the 4th August there is a fair held in Newtown. That fair is principally for horses. Cattle come to it too. Sometimes it is a good fair and sometimes bad.
The principal fairs of Ballina are :- the 12th May, 3rd June, 20th June, the first Friday of July, the 12th August and the 19th November.
The 12th May is a fine fair for fat lambs. The 10th October is a good fair for cattle that are not going to be kept over the winter.
