    the crucifixion, they found the they had forgotten the nails. Without losing any time they sent a messenger to the village smith asking him to make the nails. The smith refused and said he would have no hand, act or part in the crucifixion. The messenger came away downhearted. On the way he met a crowd of tinkers and told them his trouble. Don't worry said one of them. I'll make the nails. The tinker made the nails but from that day out it was misfortune after misfortune for the tinker, who had to wander the roads with the sky for a roof. The blacksmith had good luck for refusing to make the nails and that good luck is still with him.
