- The fairs are usually held in out town. Every second week there is a fair held. There is a toll paid which amounts to twopence a head to the Earl of Listowel. Always when cattle or any other animal is sold luck money is usually given. The animals are marked with a special bought marker. When an animal is sold the rope or halter is given away. There are special fairs held for horses and other fairs held for cattle, sheep and for bonhams. There is also a special market day every Friday in our town. The cattle are sold in the square, the pigs and bonhams are sold in the market.
