knew this animal well but strangers were often caught napping.
One morning a man named John Nolan was going to work. He took a short cut across Carney's field. Thinking about something he forgot about me brave goat when suddenly he got a push behind. He turned suddenly and lo and behold there was the famous goat. All the poor fellow could do was to grab the goat by the horns and hold on to him. He was there for two mortal hours before John Carney saw him and came to his relief.
There was many a laugh at poor John and the goat for many a year after.
