  1. There is supposed to be a treasure hidden in newtown, a village about a quarter of a mile outside Killaloe near the fort of King Brian Boru. No attempts have ever been made to unearth it. The treasure consists of valuable vessels. The Danes did not know that the treasure was hidden there. Tradition tells us that the treasure is guarded by a fairy called a Leprechaun and people have declared that they have often seen him. It is believe that a light is often seen near the buried
