- Every month there is usually a fair in every town in order that the farmers many get rid of their stalk. Usually the buyers go to the house when buying pigs and cattle. Sometimes buyers come out the road a bit from the town to meet the people with the cattle and try to buy from them. When people buy cattle they usually give in a few shillings called a "luck penny".When sheep are bought they are usually marked, with different colours of paint. Each year there is usually a special fair in Muff for horses. With out the local fair farmers would not be able to get rid of their stock.
