others left the place altogether and some set sail for America. Those who went to America are Brigid, Mary and Margaret Devitt and Brigid Wynne. About ten years ago Bridie O'Brien who lived at Devitt's went to America. Michael Devitt Patrick Wynne are the two oldest in the townland. Sixteen persons live in it and all own farms.

The name of my townland is Ballybeg and it means the small townland. Before the plantations there were a lot of small houses situated near other and that is the way it got its name. It is(continues on next page) - Collector
