  1. Hie Over to London (continued)

    Mikey Leahey lived in Ballyhogan.

    (continued from previous page)
waiting for his mother who was out milking. He heard whispering in the house but could not place where the voices were coming from.
"Give me a cap" they said
    "Give me a cap"
"Give me a cap he repeated and immediately a cap fell on his head. He was lifted up onto the air and carried away over the sea to London with the Good People. There they had dancing and feasting in a fine house and while they were all shouting "High cap for England" Mikey shouted "High cap for Ireland". At that he was lifted once more and the next thing was that he found himself sitting at the table at home once more.
His mother came in. "Oh Mikey" says she "where were you all this time?" "In London" says he "for a night". "For a night says she " you are out of this house seven years tonight"
