Knockvicar is the name of a townland which meas "The Bishop's Hill. Long ago a bishop lived, and in a field there is a rock shaped like a chair, which is called the Bishop's Seat. Mr. Moore's house was the home of the Peyton. family, During the famine years, it was used as a work-house. Underneath the house there are Subterranean passages.
