  1. Though a Presbyterian and living among a purely Catholic people the Mac Laughlin family were always on the very friendliest of terms with their Catholic neighbours and mixed in all their sport and dancing.
    They received their early education at the local National School, Knockerra and always spoke in the highest praise of their school days there. The house and farm is presently the property of one of the sons Mr. Duncan Mac Laughlin governor of one of the Indian States.
