Once upon a time there lived a man beside Lisnageer fort.

Once upon a time there lived a man beside Lisnageer fort. He had a big farm and five or six cattle. One day he said he would put his cattle on the fort, so he did so. On the following the cattles' tails were gone. He said he would watch the fort from under a cock of hay beside it. In the middle of that night the fairies came with long knives to cut the cattle again. He raced after them and they all disappeared. Some time after that they (fairies) used to be heard crying on the fort at night.
