    and he pointed to a hole in the wall and he told her to put in her hand and so she did. Then she took out a handful of gold sovereignes, and he told her to put them in a porringer and put milk on them, and put them on the fire for about half-an hour, and she brought them up to him, and he sat up in the bed and drank the milk and soverignes as they were melted, and he died when he had them drank.
    I do not know the man's name. It is said that he never spent a penny only what he spent for buying food and clothing,
