    There was an enchanted mare and foal in this townland and man named Connolly laid a snare to catch the mare and her foal. The next morning he was found dead and the mare or foal was never seen since.
    There is in this townland what is known as the moat - a heap of stones on the highest hill in the townland. The moat was much larger but the owner removed some of the stones, and found a heap of bones which he covered over and made the moat in its present position.
    At the south east of the townland the two counties of Cavan and Monaghan meet. Also three townlands Beagha, Clossnabradden and Cornalaragha.
    Four parishes meet Magheracloone, Killann, Carrickmacross and Inniskeen. Alos three dioceses Kilmore, Clogher and Meath
