  1. A man named John Hall lived in Shancrock. He had a servant boy hired. The servant boy slept in the kitchen and John Hall slept in the room. Before going to bed they prayed. This is the prayer they used to say :
God bless me, and my wife.
My son Joe, and his wife
Us four and no more. Amen
One night the servant boy answered.
Bad luck to you, and your wife.
Your son Joe, and his wife.
You four, and no more. Amen
