  1. Richard McDonnell who owned the business now carried on by his son lived in Virginia, he was well known as a great Irishman being a fluent Irish speaker and a great step dancer.
    He was a great supporter of every movement that had for its object Irish Ideals, he was a keen business man and he was very charitable to the poor and held in high esteem by his many friends.
    He tried to have service held at Saint Patrick's well every year but when he died nobody looked after it.
