  1. Hedge schools were in existence about two hundred years ago. It was outside in the open the master used to teach. Master Brady was a teacher in this district and he used to teach arithmetic and Irish also history used to be taught by the master.
    They used to go from place to place teaching. One of the hedge-schools were in Terry Donohoe's land. They had no blackboards or copies only slates.
    They teachers would not stay Because Cromwells soldiers would find them out and kill them.
