  1. There lived an old man in Clifferna whose name was Pat Selson. He was locally known as Pat the Dane, he always wore a dressing gown as his everyday out-fit. He kept 15 or 16 male goats in the kitchen where he slept. He was very fond of visiting the Public House in Larah and Stradone, and one particular day when Pat was returning intoxicated he met a clergy man on the road who said "Drunk the day again Pat" by Heavens Father so am I says Pat.
