    were Pat Galligan Corisalea and James Galligan Kilnacreeva. There was no challenge as several young men in those days could do the same.
    There was a great stone thrower about 50 years ago named John Gilchrist Main Street, Cavan who lifted a stone weighing four stone weight in one hand and threw it across a pole 14 ft high.
    There was a great runner about 61 years ago named Jimmie Galligan Carrickabawn Ballinagh who ran a fox 25 perches stuck him with a pitch fork and killed him. It took about ten minutes to do this. There was also a very swift runner whose name was Paddy Brady Drumkilly who ran a hare ten perches and killed her with a stick.
    There were two great walkers about 60 years ago named Bernard Briordy and Philip Gaffney Corisalea who started from Corisalea at half past two in the morning walked to a fair in Cloon gap which was 29 miles bought two cows and walked back the next day which was 29 miles more and were home a three o'clock the next morning.
