    turf in towns.
    When a boy was going into the town of Swanlinbar to sell turf, he met Sir Francis Finaly coming out riding on horseback.
    He ordered the boy back home, and next day went to the man's house.
    The punishment
    Sir Francis Finlay left on the man was: to cut a stack of turf for him every year for 10 years. He had to give him a young sow, and a heifer.
    He also had to go on a certain day to dig potatoes for the landlord. This was the way in which some landlords carried on in former times.
