    The 23rd June is '' bonfire '' night.
    The 29th June is '' old bonfire '' night. On these nights large fires are lit in the open air.
    On St. Stephen's day (26th December) boys dress up in false faces, so that they will not be known. They go around from house to house. At every door they sing and dance and say
    '' Give us a couple of coppers to bury the wren. ''
    '' Up with kettle and down with pan, give us a couple of coppers to bury the wren. ''
    Most people give them money. They are called '' wren men '' or '' mumers .''
    At Easter boys go around for eggs. They usually bring music with them. They are called '' egglers ''
