    '' guggerer '' stands in the furrow, and puts one cut in each hole. There is usually three holes made in a row across each ridge. When potatoes are planted in lea ground, they are only shovelled once. When the potatoes are coming up over the ground, they are shovelled. Mould is dug in the furrows with a spade, and it is put up on the ridges with a shovel. Potatoes are dug out of the ground in September. They are dug with a spade, and left on the ridge. The big ones are gathered and put in a heap, and the small ones are put in a heap by themselves. Then they are covered over with rushes, and clay is put on top of them.
