- (continued from previous page)windstorm. When a rainbow is seen in the morning, it is a sign that there will be rain, that day. An old proverb says:-
'' A rainbow in the morning,
Is the shepherds warning,
A rainbow at night,
Is the shepherds delight.''Signs of the weather observed indoors:-When soot falls out of a chimney into the fire, it is a sign of rain. When furniture creaks, it is a sign of rain also. When a fire burns brightly dry weather may be expected, and when a blue streak is seen in the gRís (red hot ashes) frost is coming. If people feel sleepy, and drowsy, at the usual time for rising, and that there is no known cause for that feeling, rain is certain to follow:- Collector
