    In the parish of Templeport and townland of Ballymagovern a sword was found. It was found, near the walls an old castle, by Mrs. William Kells, Ballymagovern, the owner of the land.
    In olden times the castle was owned by the Mac Govern clan of West Cavan. The castle walls are supposed to have been wet with bullock's blood.
