  1. In the year a large windstorm occured. It started at Lough Allen and continued in a northwesterly direction, until it reached Gorvagh Lough, on the borders of Co Fermanagh.
    it travelled with such velocity that it drained the lough dry. On its course it brought the gable out of "Charley Caihal Tamey's" house - the present owner is Charles Maguire - and it left the neighbouring house untouched.
    This storm lasted for fifteen minutes. Rain came concurrently with the wind and it is said that the drops were exceedingly large.
