  1. The marten is something like a cat. Its tail is long and thick. There is a claw or sting in the end of its tail and when it attacks a lamb, the marten strikes sideways with its tail against the lamb.
    Mr. Kidd and Mr. Mooney, Hillbrook had several lambs killed by the marten. During the day it hides in trees for it can climb just like a cate. It is furry too.
