  1. Black Tom's buildings were in Coolattin where the big house now owned by Lord Fitzwilliam stands. The ruins of the buildings are to be seen underground at the big house. It is said that was how Lord Fitzwilliam came to be so rich: that Black Tom's dying words were - "My heart and soul to the devil and all my wealth and riches to Lord Fitzwilliam".
Black Tom hid himself for many years from the public. He kept his carriage and pair underground at Coolattin and drove through a tunnel from his mansion to Kilcommon. Part of these ruins are to be seen in the Sellers' Lane near Tinahely.
