    Churning
butter is washed in the churn. Spring water is poured in on the butter until it comes out clear.
The butter is them taken out of the churn and any trace of buttermilk that may left in it is pressed out with the spades. Salt is then put in it. It is them made into prints or rolls.
To restore the profit the coulter of a plough was placed under the churn and the person who had taken the profit was sure to come in. The people of the house would make that person churn for a while.
