- There are many holy Wells in this Parish, and some of them are blessed by saints. There is a holy well in the townland of Ballygobbin, in the middle of an old churchyard. It is said that this townland is so called because a saint by the name of Saint Gobbin lived in the townland and that he blessed the well.
There is another holy well in the townland of Cranareen. This well is situated beside the river.
There is another holy well also in the townland of Cranareen in the churchyard. The water of this well cures warts. There is always the same amount of water in the well both in winter and summer.
There is a blessed well in Ballymacrow where there was said to be a convent.
There is a holy well in Rathdangan called "Tobar Owen". A companion of Michael Dwyer's was hanged on a tree over this well about the year of 1798. People who were cured at any of those(continues on next page)- Informant
