  1. In Olden times people would not start to work such as ploughing on a Monday they said it was not lucky to start on that day. They would not cut their nails on a Friday or on a Sunday.
    Wednesday was considered a lucky day because people generally like to get married on that day and they say Saturday is an unlucky day.
    My father Edward McHugh told me this story on the 30.1.1938.
