The way a "wind-mill" is made is very simple. I get a square piece of paper and cut in to the middle. I gather up the four corners and run a pin through them and stick the pin into a thin stick. Run against the wind and the "wind-mill" will turn. The same way could make a wind-mill with tin.
A whip made with rushes is very easily made. I get ten rushes or so and plait them from top to bottom. Lap one rush around the top so as not to let it open, and two or three lapped round for a hand-place.
