    ashes. When they had finished eating they did the same. Another custom of the old people was: when any person would come they would run to the dresser where they kept the blessed ashes in a mug, and make the sign of the cross on the person's forehead. On that night the oldest person would go to every bed in the house and shake the blessed ashes on each of the beds.
