  1. Some people say if cows are milked at six o'clock on a May morning by unknown people they would be able to take the butter. Old people believed in lighting a fire on a May morning and driving the cows through it.
    Some people say it is unlucky to pull down a swallows nest over a cowhouse door. If a person killed a robin then his cows would milk blood. A goat put into the cowhouse with the cow is said to be lucky. A horse shoe nailed upside down, on the outside of cowhouse door is supposed to be lucky.
    When calling horses people say 'pheo, pheo'. When driving
