    From Bergins of New Gate to ould Paddy Browns

    They rapped at the windows and the doors they did shake
    And after some time Micky Hertnon did wake.
    When Hertnon awoke out of bed he did get
    And the words that he said they will never forget.

    For I'm no threshing engine to be dragged out of my bed
