- (continued from previous page)to make brown dye out of heather. The heather was boiled in water and then they used to steep the clothes in the water of it. All the heather except the root was used.
- Basket making is still carried on in this locality in much the same way as it was long ago.
First of all hazel rods were got and boiled to make them supple but nowadays this is not done because it was found that if the rod is twisted at the point at which it has to be bent it will not break.(continues on next page)- Collector
