    were big thick scraws put over that to let people cross over, then where there was very little waster and it would be sandy they would draw turf across it.
    About two hundred yards down from the town on the Shannonbridge road a man named Bob Carr dropped dead returning from work. There is a cross cut out in the bank on the side of the road to mark the spot where he died.
