  1. The best cure for lumps in your neck is to get burnt salt and put it to your neck.
    Warts: There is a man in Kilcolgan that can cure warts, he gets two bits of straw and makes a cross of them, and puts the cross on the wart gets better.
    Stye: The cure for a stye in your eye is to get nine gooseberry thorns, and point each one to your eye and bless yourself as you point each one, and then throw the thorns away.
    Burn: Get the back of an elder tree, the root of a daisy and boil them with lard until they become an ointment and then rub it on the burn.
    Whooping cough: If you see a man with a white horse passing your door, go out and ask him if he has any cure for whooping cough what ever he tells you will cure you.
