    It is supposed that there are three drops of the devil's blood in a wagtail. When you first hear the cuckoo you should see if there is a grey hair on your foot, and if there is you will comb grey hair.
    If you meet a magpie on the road in the morning and if it flies up, and then flies over the hedge on your left hand side, you will have bad luck that day.
    When the skygoat (Jacksnipe Mionan an Aere) cries in the evening it is a sign of fine weather.
    The reason the robin has a red breast is because it flew against the Cross on Good Friday to pull a thorn out of Our Lord's forehead and some drops of blood fell on its breast.

    Four to die,
    Five for silver,
