- In the Penal Times
In a field owned by Mr Thomas Kidney of Cornalaur, there is still a "Mass Rock". This rock is reached by eight or nine steps and it is surrounded by a very high ditch. Every night a light is seen moving about there, and sometimes music and other noises are heard there The bog is situated near this place and it is believed that the priests used to hide in it when they were routed from saying Mass, by the English soldiers. Some say a priest was killed here, but the (thruth) truth is not known about it.- Collector

- There is also a "Mass Rock" in Mr Sherlock's field and it is said that during the Penal Days mass was offered there, and that the people from the surrounding districts came to hear Mass there. At that time Agall was mostly wooded, thus is affording scout hiding places for the priests. On the "Mass Rock" there is a chalice drawn out and there is also an inscription on it. Near it is a Holy Well but it contains no water.
