    There was a girl named Catherine Reddy who lived in Raheen and she used to go with the fairies. She often told my grandmother where she had been, such as, at the top of the lighthouse etc.
    Well one time she told her of a great chest of gold that was hidden in the rath in Whitney's field in Old Ross. (This farm is now belonging to a man named Martin Roberts who was married to a granddaughter of Whitney's)
    She told her it was a big iron chest with two big padlocks and that it would never be found. She also said there was an underground passage going from the rath across the field under the road and I think under the house and down to the end of Whitney's garden where there was another cave in
