    Historical Tradition.
    During the Rebellions of 1798, 1916, and 1921, Ferns was the centre for a number of the Insurgents. troops were stationed in Ferns Castle and the marks of the bullets are still to be seen on the Castle Walls.
    Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy is about 6 miles from Ferns.
    Corrigrue (Carrig Rua) situated about 3 miles.
    Tubberneering - 3 miles -
    Slieve Buidhe - 6 miles - all places of great historical interest.
    The Giants Bed in Corrigrue is still visited by many.
